A few of these tips I never heard of before. This is something you could add to your companies’ safety e-zine or include in your next safety meeting, or whatever.

1) Kneel or sitbackrub when tucking in sheets to avoid stretching and bending.

2) Use a long-handled mop or sponge when cleaning floors and bathtubs.

3) When raking or mopping, stand sideways with your feet apart and move the tool in a left-to-right motion (rather than back and forth). Use short strokes.

4) Put one foot on a stool when working over a sink or table.

5) When shoveling snow, slide one hand down the shaft of the shovel. With very heavy loads, bend one knee and hold the handle against your knee or thigh. Swing each shovelful horizontally.

6) Pull grocery bags to the edge of the trunk before lifting them out.

7)  Get someone to give you a backrub!
